Australian farmers have grown the world's largest oyster

Australian farmers have grown an oyster that weighs more than 3 kilograms. This is almost double the previous record - 1.6 kg. Snob.ru reports this with reference to ABC.

The clam, named Jill, was brought from Tasmania in 2015 when it was the size of a match head.

Oyster farmer Bernie Connell has already won the award for the largest oyster in the country's history at the Narooma festival, where he took first, second and third places.

Fourth place went to two participants whose oysters weighed 2.2 kg.

The owners of the farm where the largest oyster in the world was grown intend to record their achievement in the Guinness Book of Records.
