An event on the occasion of Mother's Day celebration was held at the Cultural Center at the Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat on Friday.
In Iran, Mother's Day was established in honor of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatimah Zahra, who in the Islamic world is considered as the ideal mother and a role model for all Muslim women.
The event was attended by invited guests, wide layers of populations, Iranians living in Turkmenistan.
The Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navid Rasuli congratulated those present with this festive day. Speaking about a sacred position of mother in society, he noted that the Prophet Mohammad said: “Paradise is under the feet of mothers”.
Rasuli also stressed that famous poets and writers of Iran and Turkmenistan in their works have repeatedly pointed to three values revered in the cultures of the two countries: “a mother’s sight, a mother’s smile and a mother’s prayer”.
Then the event continued with a video demonstration, creative performances, drawings’ contest. The listeners of the Center, who learn the Persian language, recited poems and essays on this topic.
As per the end of the celebration, the graduates of the courses were given certificates, the winners of the contests-awards, reports the press-service of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat.
