Astrakhan is ready to intensify efforts to create a shipping line in the Caspian Sea with Turkmenistan

Astrakhan shipping companies are ready to get involved in the creation of a shipping line in the Caspian Sea between Astrakhan and the International Seaport of Turkmenbashy. This was announced by the governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin at the SPIEF-2023, TASS reports.

According to him, the region has the potential to build up the fleet. Astrakhan shipbuilders are ready to build ships for work on the Caspian shipping lines.

“This will contribute to the growth of cargo traffic along the international North-South transport corridor and reduce the costs of cargo owners when transporting goods across the Caspian,” Babushkin said.
