Ashgabat Zoo Joins EARAZA

The National Museum of Wildlife of Turkmenistan (Ashgabat Zoo) has joined the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA) as a full member.

The certificate was presented to the mayor of Ashgabat by the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin. During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of further cooperation in this area, the Russian embassy reported on its social networks.

The presentation of the certificate was a continuation of the agreements reached during the visit of the accreditation commission of the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums to Ashgabat in October this year. The main goal of the visit was to assess the compliance of the Ashgabat Zoo with international standards for its inclusion in EARAZA.

We remind you that during this visit, a bear, a pet of the Volokolamsk Center for Reproduction of Rare Wild Animals, was donated to the Ashgabat Zoo. It was named Sumbar.
