Ashgabat to Host Turkmen-Austrian Business Forum This Month

Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat will host the 11th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission and within its framework a business forum on November 29-30.

The brief on the preparations for the events was presented by Batyr Atdayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government overseeing the country’s trade and textile complex, to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday, the country’s official media reports.

The Vice-Premier said these events are expected to be mainly attended by mechanical engineering companies producing high-tech equipment for the wood, plastic and metal processing industries, agriculture and water management, food industry and health care. The companies operating in digital systems and software, environmental protection, culture, education and science areas will also attend the events.

The forum will also include a series of bilateral meetings and negotiations between representatives of the Austrian companies and the Turkmen businesses.

Following the brief, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening the traditionally friendly relations with Austria.Expressing confidence that the forthcoming business forum in Ashgabat will be of great importance and will give a new impetus to the fruitful cooperation, the the Head of Turkmenistan addressed a number of instructions to the Vice-Premier to ensure a high level of preparation for these events.

The government meeting discussed priority issues of state affairs and adopted documents aimed at further development of the national economy.
