Ashgabat to Host International Conference on Recovery of Transport Links

The International Conference on recovery of transport and transit corridors for strengthening regional and interregional interconnectivity and development will kick off in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat next Monday.

The two-day conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Connectivity and Development" is organized on the initiative of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The main organizers of the conference are Türkmendemirýollary" (Turkmen Railways), Turkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmen Road Transport), Türkmendeňizderýaýollary (Turkmen Maritime and River Transport) and Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmenistan Airlines) agencies, and the company Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan (TULM), Turkmen Forum, the co-organizer of the event, said in its press release.

The other co-organizer of the conference is the Turkmen Logistics Association.

The event will be held at the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat. At the same time, most of the speakers and delegates from around the world will also join the conference through the Zoom platform for presentations and discussions.

Key government representatives, government agencies, and private sector leaders from Turkmenistan and the region will present ideas and strategies for improving transportation and corridors. The list of over 30 speakers includes representatives of prestigious local and international organizations and companies, according to the statement.

Over 400 participants have registered for the conference, including 171 representatives of foreign companies and 87 representatives of local companies. While most of the participating companies and organizations operate mainly in the transportation and logistics sectors, other organizations and sectors from related fields will also be represented at the event.

The conference will also serve as a platform for delegates to interact with government and private sector representatives. The conference also includes tours to the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Avaza National Tourist Zone.
