The Ashgabat Spring Short Film Festival will be held in Turkmenistan in May this year. Creative teams, directors, playwrights, screenwriters, cameramen, and everyone wishing can congratulate the country on the upcoming anniversary of independence and express love for the capital, which is celebrating the 140th anniversary of its foundation.
“We have announced a festival-competition of short feature films in order to identify young talents living in our country,” says one of the organizers of the event, deputy for creative projects of the Turkmenfilm association named after Oguzkhan, Sakysalikh Bayramov.
The submitted works must be meaningful, have an artistic concept.And it is important to adhere to the condition: “fit” all plots in 5-10 minutes.Any citizen of Turkmenistan can participate, regardless of the type of activity.
Creative works are accepted until May 15th, and on the 23rd, on the eve of the city day, the winners will be announced.A competent jury will consider worthy short films from the point of view of several nominations script, direction, best male and female roles, and camera work.
It is not excluded that a film may also get the Audience Award.
The main task of the festival participants is to be able in a limited time to present their views on their favorite city, on how Ashgabat has been transformed for years of independence. The best short films will be shown at a private screening on the day of the awards ceremony. Opening the veil of secrecy, the organizers said that some of the videos may appear on the pre-holiday air of state TV channels.
