Taxi fleet of Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat has been expanded with new 530 Toyota Corolla taxis, the official Turkmen media reported on Thursday.
Modern Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra cars were also supplied to the specialized departments of Türkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmenistan Motor Vehicles) agency in the provinces. The population of Ahal province will be served by 50, Balkan province - 34, Dashoguz province - 80, Lebap and Mary province - 85 new modern cabs.
According to the report, the new cars are installed with advanced equipment, meet the established standards and requirements of passenger service. The vehicles operate within the frontiers of the provinces. Clients can order taxi services via phone.
Last year, Türkmenawtoulaglary Agency signed contracts with Japan's Sumitomo Corporation to buy 2,110 Toyota taxis and buses.
