Ashgabat, London Mull Strengthening of Business Cooperation

The Turkmen-British trade and economic meeting was held online on Friday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in a press release.

The Turkmen delegation consisted of Minister of Finance and Economy Muhammetgeldi Serdarov, Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the State Committee for Water Resources Guyzgeldi Bayjanov, and the British side included Trade Envoy of the Prime Minister of Great Britain to Turkmenistan Baroness Nicholson, British Ambassador to Turkmenistan Hugh Stanley Philpott and JCB Sales Limited Managing Director Den Thompstone.

The meeting participants discussed issues of further building up and deepening the bilateral partnership of the two countries in priority areas. In particular, the sides considered issues of trade, economic and financial cooperation in various sectors of the economy, and the possibilities of strengthening business cooperation.

The British side expressed interest in strengthening cooperation between the business circles of Turkmenistan and the UK, including the participation of British companies in joint projects. The parties also discussed trade proposals for the development and increase of trade between the two states.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the constructive exchange of views that took place would give a new impetus to the development of dialogue between the two countries in the economic sphere.
