The Turkmen kushtdepti dance was performed by artists from Turkic-speaking countries in an online relay race held by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the International Organization of Turkic culture (TURKSOY) to mark the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.
The event was opened by the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldy Shamuradov and Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov. In Ashgabat, the Mukams Palace scene became a platform for a video bridge.
The kushtdepti dance is very symbolic for such an event in 2017, it was included in the UNESCO list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
In Turkmenistan, this is almost a brand of national musical culture a dance is performed to a specific singing that charges the entire collective action with a common deep energy.
It has a characteristic ascending rhythm and an amazing unifying force, involving both listeners and viewers all participants of the celebration.
It is impossible to resist so attractive and exciting it is the charm of this mysterious and at the same time fun dance that has come from the depths of centuries, which makes everyone equal in its circle.
Singer Namig Aslanov from Azerbaijan, soloists-vocalists Yilmaz Demirtas, Gokce Kucukbakar and Ali Shar from Turkey, bakhshi Dinara Nuratdinova and Bukhoro mavjlari song and dance ensemble from Uzbekistan, Zhorga and Kazyna dance ensembles from Kazakhstan, and the Asia-Nur collective from Kyrgyzstan joined the kushtdepti relay in the current flash mob in the video broadcast.
Among the regions of the Russian Federation were honored artist of Bashkortostan Milausha Khaibullina and ethno-singer from Ufa Zilia Bakhtieva, soloists Zarina Khasanshina, Saida Minubayeva, Airat Zagidulla and Farida Sungatova from Tatarstan, homusist-virtuoso of the world Yuliana Krivoshapkina from Sakha-Yakutia.
Moldavian Gagauzia did not stand aside either it was presented by the Duz-Ava song and dance ensemble.
And in Ashgabat, this wonderful challenge of a kind and wise message to brotherhood and friendship was took up by Turkmen pop stars and artists of the State Dance Ensemble.
