Ashgabat hosts two-day training for journalists

Today, a two-day training course for journalists on the use of digital content creation platforms to cover issues of public interest started at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat today.

The training was organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat. The training is conducted by international experts: Marek Bekerman from the UK and Jakub Parusinsky from Poland.

Today, the participants of the training understood such issues as digital platforms, what is “public interest” and how it relates to journalism and the media. Further, examples considered the principles of "public interest" in journalism.

Representatives of the Turkmen media also took part in practical tasks. Working in teams, they searched for potential themes for digital platforms and also converted printed articles into multimedia materials for various digital platforms. Based on the results of practical tasks, the groups presented their achievements.

Tomorrow the training will continue. The subject for discussion will be social networks, video, audio and photographic materials.
