Ashgabat Attends OECD Meeting on Artificial Intelligence

Representatives of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan took part in an online meeting of the parliamentary committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Wednesday.

The meeting participants mainly focused on the formation of the legislative framework for the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI).

The parliamentarians discussed actions within the framework of the OECD Global Parliamentary Network, initiatives of the parliaments of the countries in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies.

The officials also considered the possibilities of creating a global parliamentary network on artificial intelligence and the impact of COVID-19 on technological relations.

The online event gathered representatives of the European Parliamentary Research Service and delegations from parliaments of a number of countries.
