The International University of Humanities and Development in Ashgabat and the Udmurt State University in Izhevsk organized a meeting of students and teachers in the video conference format with the assistance of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Kazan).
Rector of IUH&D Esen Aidogdyyev in his welcoming speech noted that the university considers this meeting as a platform for establishing contacts and exchanging views, a starting point in establishing promising contacts between the two educational institutions. He also spoke about various aspects of IUH&D’s activities.
UdSU Rector Galina Merzlyakova also described the structure, educational process and international cooperation of the university, which is interested in establishing a long-term partnership with the Turkmen university, combining efforts in priority areas of cooperation.
The rectors agreed to consolidate their cooperation by considering the issue of signing a corresponding agreement in due course.
Teachers of the Department of Political Science, International Relations and General History of the Udmurt State University delivered lectures on such relevant topics as “Trade and Economic Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia” and “The Sub-regional Caspian System of International Relations: The Current Situation”.
The issues raised in the speeches and during the discussion emphasized the importance of developing good-neighborly relations for sustainable development. This event was an excellent opportunity to exchange views in 2021, which was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan.
