The other day, the Ashgabat mountaineering club “Agama” organized another skyrunning race, this time along the Health Path, stretching along the slopes of Kopetdag.
Almost 50 skyrunning fans took part in the race, covering a route of more than 18 kilometers at speed. The total height gain was 1120 meters, the height loss was 460 meters, according to the alpine club’s website.
There were two checkpoints on the route, where the judges and drinking water were waiting for the participants.
Alekper Akhmedov, a multiple winner and prize-winner of international skyrunning tournaments, was the first to reach the finish line. His result was 2 hours 16 minutes 40 seconds.
Serdar Ataev took second place (2 hours 25 minutes 02 seconds). Eldar Iksanov closed the top three (2 hours 26 minutes 10 seconds).
Among women, the best result was shown by multiple medalist and winner of skyrunning races Anastasia Loskareva. She reached the finish line with a result of 2 hours 50 minutes 08 seconds.
In the age category from 14 to 18 years old, Alexander Saushkin took first place with a result of 3 hours 17 minutes 06 seconds. The second was Vladislav Korolev (3 hours 33 minutes 54 seconds).
All participants received certificates of completion of the route. The winners were awarded diplomas.
Let's remember about skyrunning - this is a sport for high-speed climbing in the mountains. It is also called high-altitude running.
