Ashgabat airport received EU certificate

Ashgabat International Airport has passed the process of issuing the RA3 (Regulated Agents Third country) certificate, which is a prerequisite for the simplified organization of air cargo transportation to the territory of the European Union countries.

This is reported by the official website of the Agency “Turkmenhowayollary”.

The certificate with registration number TM/RA3/00001-01 was issued in September 2021 by the German Federal Aviation Administration (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt), which, among other things, inspects and certifies airports and airlines on behalf of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The RA3 certificate confirms that the cargo terminal of the Ashgabat airport fully complies with all aviation security requirements established by the European Union for cargo and mail destined for or passing through the EU countries from the territory of countries outside the European Union (EU Implementation Regulation 2015/1998 ), during the entire production cycle from the moment of receipt of cargo, mail and until the moment of their transfer to the airline.

Starting in July 2014, all cargo destined for or passing through the European Union must be transported through a verified and approved supply chain, which is achieved by obtaining the ACC3 status (Air Cargo or Mail Carrier operating into the European Union from a Third Country Airport).

The airline “Turkmenistan” in cooperation with the airport of Ashgabat received an extension of the ACC3 status.
