Former head coach of London “Arsenal” Arsene Wenger addressed fans and football fans in Turkmenistan. A video message recorded on the sidelines of a FIFA training seminar in Doha was shared by Turkmen coach Rovshan Meredov.
In his address, Wenger wished Turkmenistan to become a great football power and emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation to achieve success in this sport.
Thus, the legendary specialist called on Turkmenistan to rely on the younger generation in order to claim high achievements in world football in the future.
According to Turkmen media reports, during the seminar, Rovshan Meredov presented Wenger with a gift - a Turkmen carpet, which is the national symbol of Turkmenistan.
It was noted that Arsene Wenger, who has been working on FIFA projects for the development of football for several years, had a warm conversation with his Turkmen colleague. The parties discussed the development of football, in particular children’s football, in different countries of the world, including Turkmenistan.
The world-famous specialist accepted the gift from his Turkmen colleague with great gratitude.
Rovshan Meredov is 41 years old and is a technical expert for the International Football Federation (FIFA). In the 2022/23 season, the specialist headed the “Kaganat” football club, with whom he finished in sixth place in the Kyrgyz Premier League.
Previously, Meredov was the head coach of the “Ahal” football club (2016-2019). At the international level, with the Ashgabat International Technical University, Rovshan Meredov won the AFC President's Cup in 2014.
In 2020, a Turkmen football specialist successfully passed the exam for a PRO AFC coaching license, which gives the right to coach national teams and club teams in any country in the world.
