Argentina will host World Youth Championship instead of Indonesia

Argentina will host the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, reports the FIFA press service.

FIFA has previously banned Indonesia from hosting the tournament. The tournament was to be held in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11, 2023. 24 teams must take part in the championship, including Indonesia as the host country.

Tournament dates remain unchanged.

Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, USA, Fiji, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, New Zealand, England, France, Israel, Italy, Slovakia, Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Iraq, Japan, Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea will take part in the FIFA World Youth Championship. The Argentine national team will replace the Indonesian team as hosts in the tournament.

The current world champion among youth teams is the Ukrainian team.
