During a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov heard a report from Deputy Prime Minister M. Under the scientific leadership of the National Administration for the Protection, Study and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments, archaeological, research and restoration work is being successfully carried out at sites in all velayats of the country.
Thus, excavations at the Paryzdepe monument in the Geokdepe etrap revealed a unique kariz an ancient water supply system, confirming the use of this method of hydraulic engineering in the Ahal velayat since ancient times. It is also planned to publish the “State Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Turkmenistan.”
As part of agreements with well-known scientific centers, joint archaeological expeditions will continue. In particular, at the Gonur monument the depe is Turkmen-Russian, at the Togolok 1 monument and in the Old Nisa fortress Turkmen-Italian, at the Dandanakan fortress Turkmen-American.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that one of the important tasks of national importance is the widespread study, protection, revival and popularization of the country’s rich cultural heritage. In this context, instructions were given to systematically carry out archaeological research and restoration work on historical and cultural monuments located in the regions.
