Apple introduced its lineup of iPhone 15 smartphone models on Tuesday, bringing significant changes to its flagship devices, including the adoption of USB-C charging ports.
As expected, the iPhone 15 Pro and the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max phones received the most substantial updates, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus get a number of features from last year's iPhone 14 Pro line, according to the Apple.
One of the most notable modifications across both phone lines is the introduction of USB-C charging ports. Additionally, Apple extended USB-C functionality to the second generation of AirPods Pro, enabling users to charge their AirPods directly from their iPhones.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature titanium bodies, making them the lightest Pro models ever produced by Apple.Furthermore, Apple replaced the previous mute button on the left side of the iPhone 15 Pro models with a customizable action button.
This new button allows users to perform various actions, such as launching the camera or initiating audio recording.
The Pro models also boast new camera systems equipped with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. Both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are powered by Apple's latest 3-nanometer A17 Pro chips, which the company claims are the fastest in any smartphone.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus phones are equipped with Apple's A16 Bionic processor, previously featured in last year's Pro versions, with the main improvements centered around the camera.
In terms of pricing, the iPhone 15 starts at $799, the iPhone 15 Plus at $899, the iPhone 15 Pro at $999, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,199. The iPhone 15 models will be available for purchase in stores starting on September 22.
