Tehran University hosted a solemn event dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, which was attended by the Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Hosseini, literary scholars, imams, honorary elders, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora.
According to a press release from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Iran, the event was held in agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Orientation of Iran, with the participation of the Association of Culture, Poetry and Eminent Personalities of Iran, as well as the parliamentary bloc of the President of Iran.
During the event, presentations and reports were made by representatives of the expert community, as well as diplomatic and political circles.
From the Embassy of Turkmenistan, the third secretary Kemal Ataev spoke, who noted the importance of holding such cultural and educational events to strengthen ties between the two countries, and also spoke about Turkmen literature and the huge role of Magtymguly Fragi in the formation of the unique national identity of the Turkmen people.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen diaspora organized a concert program, including Turkmen national songs and dances.
