Russia, China and Mongolia will create an international tourist route in the footsteps of the Great Tea Route, reported the Chinese news agency “Xinhua”. The corresponding document was signed within the framework of the 7th meeting of the heads of tourism administrations of China, Russia and Mongolia in the city of Wuhan.
The revival of the ancient trade route will be carried out in order to strengthen tourism cooperation between the three countries.
The origins of the Great Tea Route date back to approximately the XVII century.To the west it stretches from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province in eastern China through the Mongolian Plateau, southern Siberia, to St.
Petersburg and further to European countries.The total length of the Great Tea Road was almost 13 thousand kilometers.It was named tea because tea was exported from China to Russia and Europe along this route.
