1. The Awaza-2023 International Dance and Folklore Festival has started on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Among its participants are teams representing Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, India and Uzbekistan. In the coming days, the festival will continue with a number of bright creative events, the closing ceremony will be held on June 16.
2.Turkmenistan summed up the results of the competition of professional skills, which was held between students and specialists in the transport and communications industry.Under the terms of the competition, the participants demonstrated innovative projects in various industries, familiarized themselves with the achievements of Turkmenistan in the field of digitalization and telecommunications services.
The winners of the competition were awarded certificates of honor and valuable prizes by the Agency “Turkmenaragatnashyk”.
3. Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev will take part in the events of the High-Level Counter-Terrorism Week, which will be held at the UN Headquarters in New York from June 19 to 20.
4.Ambassador of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Ayazov held a meeting in Yerevan with the director of the Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology of Armenia John Karapetyan.The interlocutors noted active cooperation, numerous meetings of scientists from the two countries, participation in various international events, exchange of experience in the field of seismological research.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Ayazov handed Karapetyan a letter from Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov with an invitation to take part in the opening ceremony of a new urban development project - the modern city of Arkadag.
5.In Ashgabat, in the UN building, a meeting was held with young people to familiarize themselves with global activities in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The meeting, aimed at highlighting the important role of the younger generation in the implementation of the SDGs, was organized by the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan jointly with the Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.
During the meeting with the youth, UNDP specialists discussed such topics as the role of the younger generation in combating the climate crisis, how to make cities more sustainable, reasonable consumption and waste management, the environmental crisis of the Aral Sea and international initiatives of Turkmenistan aimed at combating climate change.
