An ensemble of bagshy girls was created at the Turkmen National Conservatory

At the Faculty of Folk Music of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M.Kuliyeva, on the initiative of the university itself, an ensemble consisting of bagshy girls was organized.

The new creative team continues the traditions of folk Turkmen music, in which there are many names of outstanding female bakhshis, famous for their vocal talent and virtuoso playing of the dutar.

It is enough to recall the first performers of destans - Akjagul Myradova and Nabat Nurmuhammedova, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

The first public performance of the group took place recently in the new city of Arkadag and was broadcast on the Arkadag TV channel. The girls performed 23 pieces. Most of them are based on poems by the great poet Magtymguly Fragi.

The ensemble is led by People's Artist of Turkmenistan, senior teacher of the department of art bakhshi Shemshat Hojayeva. She is a continuator of the style direction of Nabat Nurmuhammedova.

“Our ensemble consists of 20 girls, students of the conservatory,” says Shemshat Hojayeva.The special uniqueness of the team is that representatives from all velayats of the country participate in it.

And, as you know, each region of Turkmenistan is famous for its style of performance.The girls actively interact, learn to accompany in the manner of various styles of the dutarchi school, adopting from each other such performing styles as ahal-yoly, salyr-saryk, damana-yoly, yomut-goklen and others.

Ensemble members Tazegul Atajanova, Dunya Gutlyeva, Saparova Dzhemal are laureates of song and music competitions Ýaňlan, Diýarym! and Çalsana, bagşy. The team also includes continuers of musical dynasties and bagshy dynasties, the source notes.
