On Thursday, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Paris, Maksat Charyev, met with Herve Morey, Chairman of the “France-Central Asia” inter-parliamentary friendship group of the French Senate.
The meeting was also attended by senators Arnaud de Belene and Franck Menonville, reports the press service of the Embassy.
The parties discussed the development and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the implementation of the agreements that were reached during the visit of the Senate delegation to Turkmenistan in December 2022.
The senators noted that the impetus for the development of inter-parliamentary relations was given by the meeting with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Arkadag - the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which was held during a visit to Ashgabat.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan spoke about the latest constitutional amendments that have come into force, which determined the further path of development of Turkmenistan. He also briefed the interlocutors on the progress of the project for the construction of a new administrative center of the Ahal velayat - the city of Arkadag.
