Ambassador of Iran to Turkmenistan sees great potential of the SEZ “Sarakhs”

In order to study the transport potential, Iranian Ambassador to Ashgabat Ali Mojtabi Rozbahani visited the “Sarakhs” special economic zone in Iran, as well as the Turkmen-Iranian “Dostluk” dam and the customs point on the border with Turkmenistan.

This was reported by tmrl.gov.tm with reference to the press service of the Iranian diplomatic mission.

During the trip, the diplomat held meetings with local officials and representatives of transport companies. The ambassador has already conducted similar visits in recent months to the “Lotfabad” and “Bajigiran” border checkpoints, the source notes.

Ali Mojtabi Rozbahani sees great potential for enhancing the development of the “Sarakhs” special economic zone for northeastern Iran and the importance of exploiting new opportunities for trade with Central Asian countries.

The Iranian Embassy plans to continue periodic visits to the four checkpoints on the Turkmen-Iranian border.
