Ahead of holidays the President is traditionally briefed about the supply of groceries to retail outlets

At the Cabinet session held on 27 November, 2019 Deputy Prime Minister overseeing trade Chary Gylydzhov briefed President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov that ahead of the International Day of Neutrality and the New Year’s Eve the trade in retail outlets was organized and various goods are supplied to the country’s markets.

The state information agency TDH reports that the Ministry of Trade jointly with manufacturers and Turkmenistan’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs “is undertaking extensive measures to supply a full range of groceries and other merchandise which is in demand to retail outlets”.

Christmas trees are also delivered to retail chains and gift sets are being prepared.Food trucks are scheduled to be set upin the capital and velayats.

In this connection, the President charged the Deputy Prime Minister overseeing construction, energy and public utilities Charymyrat Purchekov with the task of ensuring the proper operations of food trucks in all etraps of the city and Deputy Prime Minister overseeing culture and mass media Bakhargul Abdyeva with the task of arranging high level celebrations of festive events.

It should be mentioned that despite a shortage of essential food products, in the run-up to major holidays various groceries appear on the counters with the TV broadcasts being made for state-run television channels.
