Afghanistan has announced its readiness to finance its section of the TAPI gas pipeline

Spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan, Homayoun Afghan, announced the country’s readiness to finance the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline on its section, Tolo news reports.

The Afghan side also decided to acquire land plots for laying the TAPI gas pipeline. Speaking about the significance of the project, Homayoun emphasized that it is one of the vital ones for Afghanistan.

The TAPI pipeline should pass through the Afghan provinces of Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar. In addition to creating thousands of new jobs, the project will help Afghanistan earn money from the transit of blue fuel to Pakistan and India.
