Academy For Women Entrepreneurs Program Participants Present Projects in Ashgabat

Participants of the first Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program in Turkmenistan presented their business ideas to a panel of business experts in Ashgabat on Saturday, the U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan reported.

According to the report, this event marked the conclusion of the AWE program, which was launched in March this year and implemented in Turkmenistan by the U.S. Embassy in partnership with the Union of Economists.

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Turkmenistan Vaida Vidugiris and Chairman of the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan Yuri Aronsky opened the event with their respective speeches.

"We are very pleased that Turkmenistan joined over 100 participating countries in the AWE this year. I am especially proud that this program was held not only in Ashgabat but also in Dashoguz, Mary, and Turkmenabat, where we have American Corners," Vidugiris said in her speech.

AWE is a State Department program that provides women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, networks, and access necessary to create and grow successful businesses.
