A Florida resident won a record Mega Millions lottery jackpot and became the owner of 1,58 billion USD, reports the New York Post.
The amount won became a historical record for this lottery. The identity of the lucky winner has not yet been disclosed, since the winner who wins such a large amount, according to state law, can remain incognito for three months.
If the lottery winner decides to take the entire winnings amount at once, after deducting all taxes, he will get “only” 783.3 million. But he can choose the option under which the winnings will be paid to him for 30 years.
