A unique monument to the Turkmen hero was erected in Koytendag

In the Koytendag etrap of Turkmenistan, between the villages of Koyten and Hojapil, an unusual monument to the local strongman Hudayberdi Misan was erected. The monument is a huge stone weighing 584 kg, mounted on a pedestal. This is stated in the report of the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

According to local legend, Hudayberdi Misan, who lived in 1888-1917, was an invincible wrestler. He used this stone as a kind of “mailbox”, moving it from one side of the road to the other to inform fellow villagers about his presence or absence from home.

The monument was erected in the 1980s on the initiative of local youth. It not only perpetuates the memory of the legendary wrestler, but also symbolizes the rich sports traditions of the region. Koytendag is famous for its wrestling masters, many of whom successfully perform at international competitions.

Today, the “Bogatyr's stone” has become a popular attraction, attracting tourists who stop to hear the amazing history of Hudayberdi Misan and admire the picturesque surroundings.
