The Turkish company Çalık Enerji will build a modern ecological village on the shores of the Turkmen Lake Altyn Asyr, located in the center of the Karakum Desert.

According to News Central Asia, this was announced by the Deputy General Director of Çalık Enerji for Investments and Renewable Energy Gokmen Topuz at the international forum on attracting foreign investment in the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan in Dubai.

The Turkmen Lake Altyn Asyr is one of the largest artificial reservoirs in the world. A huge number of primary, secondary and tertiary sewers collect agricultural and rainwater runoff from all areas of Turkmenistan and deliver it to the lake, which is still being built to reach its full size.

It is noted that the project is located 264 km from Ashgabat, its construction is estimated at about 4,5 billion US dollars. It may take up to 15 years to fill the lake to its full capacity, after which Altyn Asyr will occupy an area of 2000 square kilometers, and its maximum depth will be 70 meters.
