A thematic exhibition dedicated to the work of the classic of Turkmen literature, poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi recently opened in the exhibition hall of the Mary Velayat Museum of History and Local Lore.
The exhibition presents books, works of decorative and applied art, paintings by artists and a number of historical exhibits from the museum’s collection, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
Workers from culture, education, and students from secondary specialized educational institutions were invited to the opening of the exhibition. The exhibits presented in the hall aroused great interest among the event participants.
As part of the exhibition, discussions took place on the development of the personality of Magtymguly Fragi, in which his father Dovletmammet Azadi, an adherent of humanistic values, many of which were absorbed by the future classic of Turkmen poetry from a young age, played a large role.
“The conversations that took place at the exhibition site resulted in a kind of creative discussion among admirers of the history of Turkmen culture and creativity of Magtymguly Fragi,” noted the head of the cultural and educational department of the velayat museum, Bibisoltan Soegova.
It was emphasized that the poet’s dreams about the bright future of our people came true after Turkmenistan gained independence.The good traditions and customs of their ancestors are being revived in the country, the respect of citizens for their history, for the great sons of the people, which, without a doubt, include Magtymguly Fragi, Myatadzhi, Seydi, Kemine, Zelili, Mollanepes and dozens of other personalities with whose names are closely associated, is growing.
