A symbol of gratitude to the Turkmen people from the residents of besieged Leningrad will appear in Ashgabat

Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, who is on an official visit to Turkmenistan, will take part in the laying of the “Friendship” monument, which will become a symbol of gratitude to the Turkmen people for sheltering the residents of besieged Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War, informs the “St. Petersburg” TV channel.

In addition, the delegation from St. Petersburg will honor the memory by laying flowers at the “People's Memory” (“Halk hakydasy”) memorial complex in Ashgabat.

It is also noted that during the visit, Beglov will visit infrastructure facilities built in Turkmenistan by the St. Petersburg company “Vozrozhdenie”.
