On 6 November 2024, the Alisher Navoi Grand Academic Theatre in Tashkent hosted a creative evening dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, a great thinker of the East and a classic of Turkmen literature.
The event was organized on the basis of the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On wide celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi”.
The evening was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan O.Nazarbekov, Chairman of the Writers' Union S.Saidov, Chairman of the Turkmen Republican Cultural Centre G.Avezdurdyeva, Director of the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture Sh.Rizaev, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, writers, poets, prominent creative figures, representatives of the media, the Turkmen diaspora and Turkmen students studying at Uzbek universities.
Speakers at the event, which was organized as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great poet in Uzbekistan, noted that the work of Magtymguly Fragi was of great importance not only to Turkmen but also to all peoples of the world and that events of this format served as a vivid example of expanding cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the creative evening, musical performances and creative compositions based on the remarkable poems of the great thinker of the East, Magtymguly Fragi, were presented.
As part of the event, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the monument to the monument to the great thinker of the East, classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi, located on Magtymguly Street in Tashkent.
