A seminar on the management of specially protected natural areas was held in the city of Seydi

A training seminar on creating a management plan for specially protected natural areas was held in the city of Seydi, Lebap velayat, within the framework of the project “Conservation and sustainable management of land resources and ecosystems with high natural value in the Aral Sea basin to obtain multiple benefits”, implemented by the UN Development Program together with the Ministry environment of Turkmenistan.

The seminar was attended by employees of the Amudarya State Nature Reserve, the department of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan in Lebap velayat, and the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.

The participants discussed the development of basic management tools for the Amudarya State Nature Reserve and the Kelif State Nature Reserve, which is part of the reserve.

Specially protected natural areas are areas of land, water surface and air space above them, where natural complexes, objects of flora and fauna, and natural ecological systems are located, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
