A seminar on modernization of customs mechanisms was held in Ashgabat

A seminar on modernizing customs mechanisms and improving export procedures was held in Ashgabat from October 3 to 5.

The seminar, organized by the OSCE in a mixed format, was attended by representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Affairs, the Central Bank and commercial banks, the Turkmenbashy International Seaport, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, as well as other interested structures of the country .

During the seminar, the best practices of the OSCE participating States in bringing customs mechanisms in line with international standards were presented, and issues of improving the legal mechanisms governing export procedures were discussed.

The participants discussed various topics - from the digitalization of customs procedures to the development of the system of port communities and the WTO tariff policy, according to the OSCE website.
