A seminar for media employees was held at the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

From February 27 to 28, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a seminar to enhance the capacity of media workers, as well as journalism students, on ethical reporting of issues related to global challenges, namely, safe migration, prevention of substance use and human trafficking.

The seminar was organized jointly by the Safe Migration in Central Asia (UNODC) project and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

International experts Saida Suleymanova from Uzbekistan and Zhandos Aktaev from Kazakhstan participated as facilitators of the seminar. They gave participants a comprehensive understanding of media ethics, international principles of ethics, ethics of journalists and bloggers in news broadcasting, and gave examples from world experience, according to the university website.
