A new structure for the protection of intellectual property will be created in Turkmenistan

An Interdepartmental Commission for the Protection of Intellectual Property Objects will be created in Turkmenistan. This was announced at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on Friday.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Gadyrgeldy Mushshikov, documents on its creation were developed within the framework of the Program for the development of the intellectual property system of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025 and the Action Plan for its implementation.

The main tasks of the new structure are the development of proposals for the formation and implementation of state policy in this area, the definition of measures to prevent violations of the relevant legislation of Turkmenistan.

Having listened to the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that “the protection of intellectual property is provided by a set of procedures provided for by national legal acts and international treaties to which our country is a party” and instructed to “coordinate drafts of prepared documents with the relevant departments, it is reported in today's issue of the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
