A new container train will be launched directly from Ulyanovsk to Turkmenistan. Agreements on the formation of a direct block train have already been reached, TASS reports citing the words of the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexey Russkikh.
In particular, the governor noted that a new route for the block train Ulyanovsk Ashgabat Inche-Burun/Serakhs was discussed together with Turkmen Railways. Through this eastern railway corridor “Middle Volga Caspian Persian Gulf”, Russian goods will be able to quickly reach Turkmenistan and its neighboring regions Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan.
Agreements on the launch of the train include the design of the route, development of a road map and approval of timing for synchronizing work, as well as combining the route using the railway and sea terminals of the port of Turkmenbashy.
“This will significantly speed up and reduce the cost of delivery of goods in this direction,” Russkikh added.
Let us recall that following the visit of a large delegation from the Ulyanovsk region of the Russian Federation to Ashgabat, issues of opening a dealership center for Ulyanovsk goods in Turkmenistan were discussed. At the same time, Ulyanovsk entrepreneurs entered into contracts with Turkmenistan for 10 million rubles.
