On Wednesday, a new building of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkmenistan was opened in Ashgabat, the Azerbaijani Press Agency reports.
On this day, a solemn reception was held in the building of the Embassy of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.
The ceremony was attended by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, ambassadors and employees of foreign embassies in Turkmenistan, representatives of the media and the public.
The construction of a new administrative building of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan was completed in 2022. The embassy is located in Ashgabat on Kipchak street, house 41.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Hasan Zeynalov noted at the event that the new administrative building of the Azerbaijani Embassy was built some time ago, but it was decided to hold its opening ceremony on the day of the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Diplomatic relations between the countries were established on June 9, 1992. The diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan appeared in 2002. Previously, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan was located in Ashgabat at 44 Bilim Street.
