After the presentation was completed, a meeting was held at the CAREC project office in Turkmenistan. It was attended by Director of the CAREC project office in Turkmenistan Mergen Kepbanov, FAO representative and international guest Viktor Lagutov, Director of the Scientific Information Center ICSD Muhammet Durikov, Head of the ICSD Secretariat Batyr Mamedov, FAO national consultant on land and water resources, Nazar Allaberdiyev,

FAO national consultant on climate change issues and expert Dovlet Jumakuliyev.

Projects currently under development were discussed at the meeting.Victor Lagutov noted that for work at the local community level it is planned to transfer the third component of the project being developed for implementation to CAREC.

This decision was made due to the fact that the project office has demonstrated high efficiency both at the regional and national levels.

This meeting was an important step towards strengthening cooperation and coordination between various organizations working in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, according to the CAREC website.
