A meeting on developments in trade was held between Turkmenistan and Russia with the support of UNDP

On the 15th of December was held online meeting of the representatives of the Ministry of trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan with specialists from the Higher school of economics of the National Research University of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was conducted in the frame of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan “Strengthening of trade potential of Turkmenistan”.

The aim of the meeting was familiarization with activities of both institutions, also tasks and work of the project. The main attention was paid to research and development in trade, according to a UNDP press release.

During online meeting the participants addressed with presentations of the work of joint project and research development of the Ministry of trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan and the Higher school of economics.

The representatives of the Higher school of economics told about their work in the sphere of trade researches and developments, capacity building programs and advisory services.

The participants noted the importance of the meeting and discussed the opportunities between the Ministry of trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan and the Higher school of economics. Natia Natsvlishvili, acting UNDP Resident Representative:

Joined project of UNDP and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan is aimed at development of commercial potential of the country by the means of progress of human capital for the purpose of increase of competitiveness of national personnel and the transformation of human intelligence into a leading factor in economic growth and national competitiveness, diversification of exports and an increase in the share of products with high added value in its structure, a decrease in the share of imports in the country's economy.
