A meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the TURKSOY Member States was held in Ashgabat

The 41st meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the Member States of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) was held in Ashgabat. The event was timed to coincide with the proclamation of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” in 2024, TDH reports.

The meeting participants highly appreciated the events held in Turkmenistan this year, including the II Theater Festival of TURKSOY Member States, the Gorkut Ata International Film Festival, as well as forums, exhibitions and concerts.

The council members discussed and made decisions to intensify joint efforts to preserve and popularize the cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples, approving the TURKSOY Activity Program for 2025. Following the meeting, a final declaration was signed.
