A meeting of the CIS Intergovernmental Council on cooperation in the field of veterinary science was held in Turkmenistan

The 46th meeting of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in Veterinary Medicine was held in the capital of Turkmenistan on October 22.

The meeting was attended by members of the council and authorized representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as a representative of the CIS Executive Committee. This was reported on the website of the CIS Executive Committee.

The head of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan Dovlet Nuryev was elected Chairman of the Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in Veterinary Medicine.

The agenda Included a wide range of issues related to ensuring epizootic welfare in the CIS member states.

The heads of delegations presented information on the epizootic situation in the CIS countries.

The council members discussed information on the implementation of sets of joint measures to prevent and combat foot-and-mouth disease, rabies, avian influenza and Newcastle disease for the period up to 2025. They also reviewed draft sets of joint actions to prevent and combat particularly dangerous diseases of animals and birds for the period up to 2030.

The council members supported the proposal on the need to develop cooperation in the field of quality control of genetic material and veterinary drugs.In this regard, a decision was made to grant the federal state budgetary institution “All-Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Animal Medicines and Feed” the status of a basic organization of the CIS member states for advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of quality control of genetic material, veterinary drugs and food raw materials of animal origin.
