Yesterday, the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan was celebrated with a joint concert at the National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly.
The concert featured performances by Italian pianist and composer Roberta Di Mario and Turkmen pianist and composer Aylar Saparmuradova.
According to the IIC, Roberta Di Mario creates music for theatre, television programs, cinema and advertising, and also writes compositions for piano and chamber music.
The success of her latest concept albums Ilegacy and Disarm permitted her to perform at major concert venues in Italy, New York, Copenhagen, Paris, Oslo, London, Lugano.
Composer and pianist, winner of the competition of the President of Turkmenistan “Golden Age of Turkmen” Aylar Saparmuradova prefers to compose music in the style of romanticism, as evidenced by the names of many of her compositions: “Eternal Love”, “Love Created”, “Ballad of Mother” and others.
Aylar represented Turkmenistan at many foreign forums: she performed at Culture Days in Belarus, Croatia, Japan, and Mongolia. Turkmen figure skaters performed to her music at the international winter games in Russia and Uzbekistan.
Roberta’s performance of the national anthem of Turkmenistan on the piano gave a special atmosphere to the concert evening. The duet of pianists who played the composition four hands was no less striking, the source notes.
The joint concert became a clear confirmation of the close cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Italy.
