From December 5 to 6, a delegation of members of the Federation Council headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activities Vyacheslav Timchenko visited Ashgabat.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, during the visit, members of the delegation held a number of meetings in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan with the aim of exchanging experience and strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Russian senators also got acquainted with the work of the Joint Russian-Turkmen secondary school named after A.S. Pushkin. Here they talked with the leadership of the educational institution and students.
The Russian delegation also met with the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin and visited the parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ashgabat.
