France has issued a commemorative coin 2 euros in honor of the former President of the French Republic, Jacques Chirac, who would have turned 90 on November 29, reports “MIR 24” with reference to TASS.
On the obverse (front side) of the coin, the image of the ex-president of France is minted, the dates of his life are 1932-2019, and the Latin abbreviation of the French Republic is engraved - RF. The circulation of the commemorative coin is 10 thousand copies.
Jacques Chirac served as President of France for two consecutive terms, from 1995 to 2007. He often visited Russia, knew Russian, even translated one of the chapters of Pushkin's “Eugene Onegin” into French. In 2001, Chirac was awarded the honorary title of Doctor of Moscow State University.
