A coffin-on-wheels car sold at auction for 28 750 USD

A strange vehicle in the form of a “coffin on wheels” was sold at auction for $28 750 USD. Mail.ru reports this with reference to Oddity Central.

The creators of this technological miracle were inspired by the cult TV series “Monster Family,” broadcast in the mid-1960s. In one of the episodes, the heroes of the series build a drag car with a similar design.

The vehicle is legal on public roads as it is registered in New York and has a valid license plate.

The Coffin on Wheels is built on a custom box chassis and features an 8-inch fiberglass body.

The driver's seat, upholstered in blue leather, is located at the rear of the coffin, and the engine is located at the rear of the center of the chassis. The automatic transmission is finished in gold with pink accents.

The gold-painted fuel tank is positioned closer to the front of the car so as not to distract attention from more striking features, such as the R.I.P. tombstone. front and massive exhaust pipes reminiscent of an organ.

The car's mileage is unknown because it does not have an odometer. Engine power and top speed also remain a mystery.
