9 prosecutors dismissed in Turkmenistan on charges of corruption

On 4 May during the session of Turkmenistan’s Security Council the military and law enforcement agencies briefed President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov on progress report to sum up the results of the past four months.

The President was extremely discontent with the performance of law enforcement authorities of the country, severely reprimanded the Interior Minister Isgender Mulikov and relieved Prosecutor General Amanmyrat Khallyev from his post.

Berdymukhammedov also dismissed nine staff members of Public Prosecutor’s office and authorized Chairperson of the Supreme Court Begench Charyev to review their cases.

The following prosecutors were dismissed:

Begenchmyrat Jumagylydzhov deputy prosecutor of Balkan velayat

Yusup Arsaev prosecutor of Altyn Asyr etrap, Akhal velayat

Shirmyrat Saparov — prosecutor of Bakharly etrap, Akhal velayat

Begench Sarykov — prosecutor of Bakharly etrap, Akhal velayat

Myrat Khollyev — prosecutor of Akdepe etrap, Dashoguz velayat

Rovshen Gylychmammedov — prosecutor of the city of Turkmenabat, Lebap velayat

Dovletgeldy Gylychnazanov— prosecutor of Sakar etrap, Lebap velayat

Batyr Shikhmuradov — prosecutor of Iolotan etrap, Mary velayat

Nurmyrat Abdrasulov— prosecutor of the city of Bairamali, Mary velayat
