6,4 magnitude aftershocks again hits Türkiye

On the evening of February 20, a new earthquake with a magnitude of 6,4 was recorded in Türkiye, in the province of Hatay in the south of the country, reported the Rg.ru website with reference to information from the national aid agency Afad.

The source of the earthquake was at a depth of 2000 meters from the earth's surface. The province of Hatay has already been hit by a devastating earthquake on February 6, in which the death toll has already reached 41 thousand people. On Monday evening, there was already the ninth shock in the last 68 hours.

The tremors were felt in Antakya and Adana, as well as Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Israel, Egypt and Lebanon. Buildings collapsed in Hatay province and there is no electricity.

The collapse of buildings from the latest tremors was also recorded in Syria, which was also badly affected by the elements on February 6.

Turkish authorities warn citizens against staying close to the sea in Hatay province, as they fear the water level will rise by half a meter.
